Phil Swan
Phil Swan invented the Tethered Ring in 2015. He has a track record of developing successful innovations while working on advanced multi-disciplinary projects including Starlink, Hololens, and XBox. He has been granted 38 US patents (including the original patent for the Tethered Ring) and has received three corporate recognition awards.
C Prado Nickel
Ceana (pronounced Shay-na) is a Mechanical Engineer who worked at Liebherr-Aerospace on the development and integration of the folding wing tips of Boeing’s new 777X airliner. She has business development experience at Liebherr-Transportation Systems as well, which designs solutions and components for the future of the railway industry. She is currently a program manager at TLG Aerospace, a firm that designs, analyses, and helps certify new and retrofit aircraft designs, including hypersonic aircraft. Ceana is a long-standing member of the Atlantis team. She has presented several times on the Tethered Ring. Notably, her talk was the main event at a paid speaking engagement that sold-out in Seattle in 2016.
Alastair Swan
Alastair is a Final Assembly Line Engineer at Liebherr Aerospace where he troubleshoots production problems to help avoid production delays at commercial airliner manufacturing facilities. Alastair is also a musician (see TjpjMusic on Youtube or tjpj-1 on SoundCloud), 3D Animator, and an accomplished maker. He has served aboard aircraft carriers of the US Navy as a helicopter mechanic. Alastair created the first 3D animation of the Tethered Ring which debuted at the 2015 International Space Elevator Conference in Seattle, WA.
Alice Dowling
Alice is a Canadian illustrator and Senior Creative Consultant on the Project Atlantis team. Inspired by the impact of science and art on each other, Alice uses their long-term love of science fiction to help make these big ideas more comprehensible and inspiring to a larger audience.
